Earlier this week I had the pleasure of visiting Benjamin Mays Preparatory School in the 9th Ward of New Orleans. As always, I had a great time and I think the kids enjoyed it as well. I was able to read to two different classes and shared both, “Snowballs for All” & “The Little Who Dat, Who Didn’t” with the students. One of the kids was having a bad day and he became my little helper.. I hope the special attention and the talk we had helped. The more I visit schools, the more I realize that all kids have the potential to do GREAT THINGS, AMAZING THINGS!!!! They can all be scientist and doctors and lawyers and authors and teachers and businessmen and women, but its our responsibility as parents, teachers, friends, family and a community to see to it that all of our children are given the level of attention they need to succeed.
The easiest way to help kids to not fail is to not let them! It’s that simple… I do understand the complexity of the matterĀ but it’s really that simple. Anyway, here are some pics from our day together. Check them out and enjoy.
